The Glen Eira Adult Learning
Centre English Program caters for beginner to advanced levels in both pre-accredited
and Accredited Certificate courses.
All students attend an assessment interview before enrolling in an English Language course. To ensure students access courses that meet their learning needs we administer the International Second Language Proficiency Rating as part of our assessment. GEALC courses are aligned to a pathway that allows each student to enter at their current skill level and work toward their learning goals. Courses are developed using approved methods of course planning, assessment and delivery as outlined by ACFE and the AQTF and the AMEP. The following English Language and Literacy Courses are offered for 2009: Certificate II in ESL (Access) Pre Beginners English English for Beginners 1 English for Beginners 2 English Conversation for Beginners Post Beginners English Everyday English Australian History
Note: Certificate I in ESL and Certificate III in ESL are also available as needed.
